The No Shoes Readings were founded to present a forum for writers in the greater Boston area to perform their work and receive feedback from an audience.   They are referred to as the No Shoes Readings because they took place in a yoga studio where wearing shoes is...frowned upon.

Now that Aforementioned Productions is located in New York, the No Shoes Readings also extend to the five boroughs.   So, if you are a writer in New York City or the greater Boston area--or one who would be willing to travel--and are interested in participating in your own reading, please contact us.

Carissa Halston, writer/director of Cleavage and author of A Girl Named Charlie Lester, co-founded Aforementioned Productions in 2005. Her work has been published online and in print, in the United States at the UK. Her debut novel, named an honorable mention at New York Book Festival 2008, was hailed as "a lovely piece of female confessional" by Kirkus Discoveries. Carissa is very proud of everything the Aforementioned team has produced and all the work it will continue to create.
