Aforementioned is an award-winning press publishing fiction, essays, and poems that combine the cerebral with the visceral—in other words, we support literature that makes readers think and feel. Our books have been praised by Esquire, NewPages, Kirkus Reviews, and Publishers Weekly, and our titles have received honors and awards from The Massachusetts Center for the Book and The New England Poetry Club.
We also publish a literary journal, apt, through which we publish short-form work online each week and long-form work in print once a year. Our contributors’ writing has been reprinted in The Best of the Net anthology and listed among the notable essays in The Best American Essays (2014 and 2017).
Aforementioned is also a theatre company. We produce literary events and limited engagements of experimental theatre in the metro Boston area.
Aforementioned is an independent, non-profit organization and we are very grateful for support from readers via book sales and donations, and, in 2017, we received a grant from the Boston Cultural Council.
