August, 2008

It's less than a month until Girlsalon! Please join us on September 18th, at the Perch Cafe, as Carissa reads excerpts from her novel, A Girl Named Charlie Lester. The reading will be followed by a Q&A, so prepare yourself to be regaled.

Still August, 2008

Ladies and gentlemen, feel free to lean forward in your seats...

We have a new Aforementioned Production.

It's Carissa's often offensive webcomic, Babysitter Want Ads. After premiering in the sixteenth issue of apt, we set up a cozy subdomain and set to work. If you have any questions about the characters or plot or art, etc., send them to Carissa.

Also, thanks to everyone who made it out to Carissa's LibraryThing Author Chat. Even though the chat is over, you can still read the entire thread!

Appearances!

July 30th-August 13th, Carissa will be answering questions at LibraryThing's Author Chat. You'll have to be a member to post a question, but LibraryThing is a great site for cataloging your books and checking out local literary happenings in your area. Once you have an account, you can check out Carissa's author thread, add some books, or post some questions.

More appearances! Carissa will be featured at September 18th's Girlsalon! More information as the reading grows nearer. For now, check out the series, which takes place every third Thursday in Brooklyn.

Charlie Lester named honorable mention at New York Book Festival 2008!

A Girl Named Charlie Lester is an honorable mention at this year's New York Book Festival.

June 28th, Carissa will be reading some of her shorter work at the festival, which will be held near the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. If you know anyone in the NYC area, let them know about this great celebration of literature, literacy, and education.

If you're in the NYC area and would like to hear her read, she'll be on the second stage from 11-11:30am, then at the official signing table for a bit thereafter.

News!

The second printing of Sequentially Yours is now available! Buy it here.

Also! The kind fellows at Omnicomic have interviewed Carissa about writing, comics, and Sequentially Yours. Follow this link to read it.

When you're done doing that, check out the fifteenth issue of apt. And just in case you thought Randolph was just an editor--or, barring that, just a pretty face--head over to see his photography. We're especially fond of 'Death of a Sales Pitch.'

That's everything we've got for now. Keep your eyes on this spot for new books, new issues of apt and further announcements on appearances.

Many thanks,

Carissa, Randolph, and Leopold
